Toylaxy Unique Handcraft Studio is a very young Company from Thailand, producing home made resin sculptures characterized by a very original and caricatural style. The statue devoted to Wolverine is the first of their Unleash the Beast Fury series; it was sculpted by Watchara Boonpokkrong and released in 2016 with an edition size limited to 522 pieces. The statue has a heigth of approximately 27cm and comes in a very professional packaging, with two interchangeable heads. Wolverine is depicted in a frontal pose, resting on the ruins of a Sentinel's head and screaming his angry fury with a wide open mouth! The sculpt is very nice: the caricatural traits immediately catch the eyes, with oversized chest and arms standing out on a thin waist and two rather slight legs. The pectorals and abdominals are bumped and hyper-defined, as well as the impressive biceps and the muscles on back, characterized by a deformed and very elongated trapezius which, in essence, replace the neck of the hero. Both the arms show a thick and dark down carved in relief, while the adamatium claws come out from the top of the fists in a very aggressive pose. The colors of the classic yellow-blue suit are bright and faithful to Comics, with black pointed strips on shoulders and torso's sides and the two rigid guards on shoulders showing a captivating metallic tone. Note the nice, rounded design of the black rigid winglets on boots, the brilliant red belt at waist, the thick and black edges of gloves and the swollen veins on both arms. The base, as said, depicts the bruised head of a Sentinel, painted with purple and silvery metallic colors and exhibiting, on one side, the inner mechanisms of the android. Both the faces are characterized by a giant and open mouth, with the teeth in good evidence, a lifted tongue and two small eyes colored with a nacre tone. The unmasked head also shows a well sculpted hair and long beard, whit deep wrinkles on the forehead and around the nose. In essence, an unusual and very nice piece for this key-figure of the mutant world, which can provide your Marvel statues collection with a charming touch of originality.
